Presentation information: The psychological impacts of child abuse and trauma are far reaching and can often span a lifetime. Working therapeutically with such clinical presentations is demanding and often fraught with obstacles for the client and clinician alike. The aim of this presentation is to explore specific practical considerations when providing psychological care to traumatized children and adolescents to optimise the therapeutic relationship, treatment planning and overall clinical outcomes.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with Amanda Paton (Parkerville), Sian Burgess (Parkerville), Joanne Dobson (Parkerville) and Duane Smith (STREAM Psychology/previously SPOT – Specialist Psychological Outreach Team).
